Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) inspection and remediation

Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) is a known problem in stainless steel nuclear pipework, particularly in aging plants. OMS have adapted our AGILITY range of robotic crawlers to tackle this problem specifically. Equipped with state-of-the-art laser sensors and UltraHD camera technology, the AGILITY crawlers are fully qualified for nuclear environments and capable of navigating complex pipework, including vertical travel. Modular system includes SmartGrind remediation system for solving surface defects in situ and can be integrated with third-party technology.

Features:

- Camera and laser technology produces 3D surface profiles

- Laser measurement identifies cracks undetectable to visual-only systems

- Navigates complex pipework to access critical, fatigue-sensitive areas

- Pipeline diameters from 8” to 16”

- Variety of other services can be deployed including other NDT methods, suction and cleaning

- Tried and tested technology used successfully on previous nuclear projects

- Potential for ongoing maintenance and assessment activities
